A couple of years ago my family went to Spain for two weeks. We were astounded by the friendliness of the people, and the sightseeing. As in many other countries in Europe, the food was fantastic. Tapas, or little bites, is one of the foods that are from Spain. There are many different varieties of Tapas, and you would have them in the afternoon as a snack. Our favorite was a potato croquette with little pieces of ham. We also had sliced ham and cheese plate at every meal. Our favorites were the monchego cheese and Jamon Iberico. This ham is sliced very thin and is very similar to Italian proscuitto. Just like Italy and other countries on the Mediterranean, they have tons of olive oil. This helped to make our favorite main course paella. Paella is a type of Spanish rice in a pan with different fish or meats. There are many different versions of this dish, and our favorite was Valencia which had different seafood in it(See picture below). We loved Paella so much, we bought our own pan and the seasonings from Spanish Feast It is easy AND FUN TO DO. Enjoy!
